Agile project management is a process that values individuals over processes and tools, customer collaboration over contract negotiation, and responding to change over following a plan. In an agile project, these values are realized through the application of 12 principles:

The agile principle emphasizes interaction over processes and tools. This means that people are the most important aspect of agile projects. This includes the customer. The ultimate decision-maker in an agile project. The customer is involved throughout the project. Mostly from start to finish, to ensure that the final product meets their needs.

The second agile principle means that the goal of an agile project is to create a working product, not to produce mountains of documentation. As needed and only to the extent necessary to facilitate the product’s development, documentation is produced.

The third agile principle is customer collaboration over contract negotiation. Promotes customer involvement in every stage of an agile project. It is not necessary to agree on long contracts or formal talks. Instead, the customer and development team collaborate to determine. And what needs to be done and how it will be accomplished.

Responding to change in an agile project means goals are not set in stone. This is the fourth agile principle. The ability to react quickly and efficiently. To changes is more important than sticking to a rigid plan.
